We started the block with a student survey on community and belonging, followed by a quick novel read.
Students then did a two truths and a lie quiz, before receiving terms FOR HOMEWORK, with which they are creating their own 3-sentence questions.
Anyone who missed the block should do this for the terms: Theme, First Person Point of View, and Falling action.
They follow the model below:
- Round characters are easy to describe in one or two words.
- Round characters are often easy to relate to.
- Round characters have conflicting thoughts and feelings.
Our poster paper for shields did not arrive today, so we will continue that work tomorrow. In the meantime, students have been given information packages with which to challenge the stereotypes presented in a note package on The Vikings.
These notes are not for homework today, but students who did not get through many notes today should do some at home. These notes will be foundational to future writing work.
